VAIN are the ultimate sleaze rock band or underground cult heroes however way you want to put it. Their debut album "NO RESPECT" set the scene alight shaking the foundations and re-affirming that rock music in the days of hair metal didn't have to be dumb, over the top, rediculous and at times embarassing. There really couldn't be a better band to headline the very first Wildside Festival which totally encompasses the attitude, style, look and sound of what Wildside is and stands for. So here for the 2nd time in the UK in many many years, and kicking off their UK tour we present VAIN, including original members Davy Vain, Ashley Mitchell, Jamie Scott and Danny West - the band that made the greatest and the best scene defining sleaze glam album, in our honest opinion! Their latest album and just released "On The Line" stands as the true successor to "No Respect", a KKKKK rated by Kerrang! magazine achieving critical acclaim across the board in all rock publications pleasing every Vain fan who had been waiting so long. What follows is their official biography...

Davy Vain has a list of accomplishments under his belt few artists today can rival. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Davy began his rise as the frontman/songwriter/producer for the band "Vain". Their debut record, "No Respect" (originally released by Island Records, re-released by Gott Discs), continues to receive critical acclaim worldwide having landed them on the cover of such notable music publications as Kerrang! and BAM. It is clearly evident from the praise garnered from the music press and more importantly other musicians, that Davy has an incredible knack for writing great songs.

As the music industry progressed and changed, Davy explored his creativity and musicianship even further. Remaining true to his musical integrity, 2000's .In From Out of Nowhere. is filled with catchy hooks and choruses, rampant with melodies, and loaded with fresh and creative guitar sounds. Davy's voice is one of the most unique, hypnotic and original voices in rock and roll. It invokes and inspires you with a style that is entirely his own. His recorded and live performances are electric, raw, and infused with a power and magic that is as rare today as it was when Davy first started playing out.

In addition to the laurels he has reaped as a musician, Davy is also a respected producer, working with a wide array of artist on other labels such as Sub Pop and Man's Ruin as well as producing three other records under the Vain moniker.

I dont think anyone can argue that co-headliners TIGERTAILZ are not the greatest sleaze rock band to ever come from the UK! And we've been a long time in waiting to see the BEZERK era line-up back in action with the noise levels set to critical! So here are original Bezerk members Kim Hooker, Jay Pepper and Pepsi Tate appearing in their ONLY UK SHOW THIS YEAR!!! What follows is there official Biography...

1990 and "glam rock" for the then generation had hit it's peak. A young bunch of liquored up melodic rockers staggered their way out of the Welsh countryside with their hair teased to the Heavens and their mothers and sisters wondering where their makeup cases had disappeared to.

Having made a splash in 1987 with their debut album, 'Young And Crazy', on the independent Music For Nations label, Tigertailz were ready to move their careers to the next level. Having let go their previous singer, the band enlisted the talents of longtime friend, Kim Hooker, in order to assist them with this task. Hitting the studio immediately the band released their debut single with Hooker, the rewritten and incredibly infectious "Living Without You" to huge public praise and shot straight into the Top 20 of the UK's independent chart. With the single's accompanying video hitting MTV Europe the band was well on it's way.

The Spring of 1990 saw the unleashing of a monster known as 'Bezerk', an album that would firmly plant the name Tigertailz in the minds, households and nightmares of rock fans, not only across the United Kingdom and Europe but worldwide, as well. In "Love Bomb Baby", the quartet had their first bonafied hit single and a song that they could use as their calling card. Hook laden and bordering on "bubblegum rock", the song was poppier than the typical Tigertailz warcry, "Our image tied us in with bands like Poison and the like", relates guitarist, Jay Pepper. "Musically, though, we were much heavier than those guys and fell more in line with Motley Crue, KISS and even Van Halen." Hitting the UK charts twice more with "Noise Level Critical" and "Heaven" the over the top antics of the band took them on the road with Tyketto, Lizzy Borden, Bow Wow, Mama's Boys, UFO and others helping 'Bezerk' sail past the quarter million sales mark worldwide.

With the Japanese popularity of the band at a fever pitch, in 1991 Tigertailz decided to give their fans in the Land Of The Rising Sun a special "gift" in the form of an album released through Sony Music called 'Banzai'. A collection of singles, b-sides ,cover songs and new material, 'Banzai' quickly sold out of it's initial pressing but was never remanufactured and as such the original album is now a highly sought after collector's item.

A revitalized interest in Tigertailz compelled the powers that be at Sanctuary Music to re-issue both 'Bezerk' and 'Banzai' worldwide along with special bonus tracks included on each release. The core members of the band, Kim Hooker, Jay Pepper and Pepsi Tate have reunited, along with drummer, Matthew Blakout and have just completed their new Bezerk 2.0 album." Kid Ego formed in 2004 in the North of England also home to one of our biggest inspirations DEF LEPPARD for us it's all about the rock n' roll! In 2004 it was time to escape the decadence, peer pressure and dysfunction that so many fall under during the early stages of adulthood. After agreeing on a well-suited name we not only became a rockband, we became a gang. Heavily influenced by stadium rock, we play powerful and meaningful rock music that makes you want to push down harder on that accelerator. As for our live shows and yeah! it's all about the live shows! we like to create an intense display of theatre that reflects the emotion and energy driven by each particular song. Rook's dramatic stage energy can be compared to Angus Young on speed. Birdy and Phil play like wild men posessed. Little Niki on drums has the showmanship of a young Tommy Lee. As a front man I look to my two favourite idols on stage Steve Tylor and Freddy Mercury for inspiration. With a combination of raw energetic rock songs, guitar solos, bass and drum solos, we always give 110%. Giving the audience their moneys worth! Kid Ego are five young unpredictable musicians who all share the same aspirations, which is to tour the world performing to as many people as possible. The songs we write based upon life’s experiences, good or bad. Either way come along for the ride!

The band have just finished recording new material for their debut album on BEM Records, encapsulating their finely honed, hi-octane, energy-fuelled live shows. Within just 12 hours of being mastered, one of these tracks, Reach For The Line was chosen by Tony Wilson (Radio 1 - Friday Night Rock Show / Tommy Vance) to replace the Slipknot track as the new audio behind the Total Rock Radio news bulletins, aired worldwide 8 times per day.

Their 1st single "Drag You Down" was released on BEM Records May 1st 2006 and went straight in at No.4 in the BBC Radio 1 Rock Chart. Promotion of the forthcoming album "Magic Man" will include a full UK / European tour with dates also planned for Russia, Japan, Canada and the USA.

Sweet Seduction are a young five piece Sleazy Glam Rock n Roll band from Birmingham. Taking influence from 80s bands like Skid Row, GnR & Motley Crue and bringing it to the modern day with influence from the likes of Backyard Babies, the Wildhearts and the Velvet Revolver. Sweet Seduction have the perfect mixture of old and new and in a business where trends circle and classic rock is timeless (Motorhead, AC/DC, Motley Crue, GnR name me other genres in rock that fill stadiums now never mind 25 years down the line) is that really such a bad thing? Much like the bands mentioned previous and other heavy weights such as Kiss, they love big choruss and have melodies to die for.., cheesie maybe, but thats what they love and thats what almost gives them their mainstream appeal thats almost impossible to dislike ..but dont take our word for it, check out their reviews! Delivering you one hell of a live show that makes them hard to ignore and take your eyes off, they also believe image and performance is as important in this day and age and it shows.. leopard print drumkits, leather , tattoos and hair is the order of the day. More interestingly their image is actually a true representation of them and their interests and must have helped in gaining them bills at some of Midlands best venues such as Dudley JBs and the Robin 2 in Bilston (Voted best venue in the midlands under 500, now holds 700 after being done up and still hosts the likes of Bob Geldolf). Also adding a major festival to their rep, Sweet Seduction played last years Bulldog Bash (Main stage contained, Terrorvision, the Datsuns, Therapy? etc) and are in the running for confirming their slot this year also. To add to that theyve played with numerous bands ranging from legends and Chart toppers the Sweet (influenced the likes of Motley Crue), Dogs dAmour to more modern up and coming established bands such as the*Ga*Ga*s, Tokyo Dragons & Roadstar (Hurricane Party) + other gigs of stature which include the sold out Birmingham Bash 05 in front of an international audience and Phill Lynotts (Thin Lizzy) mother which raised money for a statue of Phil that has now been erected in Dublin!
From such events, Sweet Seduction are gathering a loyal ever growing fan base and breaking out of the midlands and looking for new crowds to seduce. Youll truly never get a better band of professional quality to perfect any signed/touring bill. Often gigging at least weekly which reflects on the strength of the band live they also have a hard work ethic out side of the live arena. They currently have a self financed 10,000 flyer campaign & magazine adverts as well as new reviews circling the UK and even abroad. Add to that the shed load of websites theyre featured on (including being tipped on BBC Birmingham as ones to watch) and striking a deal to sell their merch online with clothing website and partners in advertising www.littlemissgothic.co.uk, theyre becoming more and more a house hold name with both young and old rock fans.
With a self released album, EP and a few demos under their belt, they also have plenty of recording experience. Unfortunately CDs always fall short as money and time doesnt allow the band to fairly present them selves. With this taken into account and the fact they are truly a live band, CDs will never do this band justice and capture their x-factor and adrenaline in their aim for world domination. It was live where they had Mani of the Stone Roses/Primal Scream screaming for an encore after randomly turning up to a show and John Ward of Saxon (Oliver/Dawsons and whos previous bands included members of Motley Crue and Guns n Roses.. Slash no less) lending an appreciative hand. Even headline bands have dropped their ego and asked that the next show together Sweet Seduction headline so they ask only one thing, you give them a chance and dont judge them untill youve seen them live!! Any band can sound good with enough time, money and production, theyve never had or relied on any of that, its all their own blood, sweat and tears.

Exciting, entertaining, with blistering songs and live shows, just like a rock n' roll band should be - that was New Generation Superstars' aim from the start. New Generation Superstars immediately set about creating an alternative to the faceless, industry driven drivel the 21st century has given us under the banner of rock music. Quickly developing a loyal following; within a few months they were playing their own headline shows and supporting major artists such as The Distillers, Robin Black, Love/Hate and Vice Squad. The band continued to play shows in and around their Nottingham base, but broke out in 2005 with three UK tours, including sold out shows at London's Mean Fiddler and Nottingham's Rock City with legendary rock n' roll heroes Vain. The band has then progressed further with national support slots for German electro-hardcore industrialist Alec Empire, American trash rockers L.A. Guns and Canada's fastest rising rock n' roll band, Crystal Pistol. All member's of the band compliment each other perfectly; with Tony Carter's solid, no nonsense, uncompromising bass playing, partnered with Chris' thundering rhythms, it's a flawless blend for Davey Messiah's hi-energy, catchier than VD riffs and AJ's gutsy vocals and low-slung guitar playing. 2005 saw the release of New Generation Superstars 'How to Hate Friends & Alienate People' EP, which has received rave reviews in the national press and all over the internet, as have their shows up and down the UK. In 2006 the band has entered the studio to work with Arctic Monkeys producer Alan Smyth to record their new single; 'Dopefiend' which has just been independently released by the band.
